The Centre for Islamic Studies recently launched the CIS Harmony Centre at Rohini Road, Colombo 06. The Chief Guest at the event was Major General Ubaya Madawela who ceremonially opened the centre.
CIS Harmony Centre is planned as a centre for reaching out and meeting of people of all faiths. The major feature of the centre is its poster walkthrough of English and Sinhala posters. The centre has also been set up as a forum for lectures and inter-faith programs, said Vice President, Outreach, Centre for Islamic Studies, Asiff Hussein.
Hussein said that his organisation also planned to revive its very popular Mosque Tour Program shortly once the COVID situation has improved, initially with small group tours before commencing large scale mosque tours in Colombo and the provinces.
